Features

CURRENCY:

The main goal of the programme is to introduce the students to language analysis, and computerised natural language processing techniques and applications. Applications developed within the language industry include:

  • Text-editing and Management (grammar and spell checkers, dictionary aids)
  • Information Retrieval and Extraction for large volumes of text
  • Machine Translation
  • Natural Language Interfaces
  • Speech Processing

INTERDISCIPLINARITY:

  • This doctoral programme is the result of the joint effort of five departments and knowledge-fields: Computer Languages and Systems, Basque Language and Communication, Language and Literature Didactics, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, Communication Engineering and Computer Architecture and Technology.

LOCATION:

The programme takes place at the Faculty of Computer Science in Donostia-San Sebastian, University of the Basque Country.
